This guide shows how to move Zoom recordings that are stored in the Zoom Cloud to My Media. All recordings in the Zoom Cloud preceding August 1st, 2021 will soon be purged from the Zoom Cloud to preserve space. If you have any recordings you would like to keep for academic or personal purposes, these will need to be manually moved to the video.byui.edu site, also known as My Media.
Please select the guide appropriate for you below according to whether you are non-faculty or a student.
1. Log in to the Zoom Cloud where your recordings are stored by navigating to https://byui.zoom.us/ and select My Zoom Account.
2. On the left hand side menu, select Recordings.
You can now browse your Zoom recordings or use the search bar to find a specific recording.
3. Click on the recording you would like to move to My Media.
You will then see the details of your recording. The recording will comprise several files including the full video file (.mp4), the audio only file (.m4a), the audio transcript (.vtt) and a chat file (.txt).
4. The full video file is the "Shared screen with speaker view" option. Hover over the file and click the download icon.
5. Navigate to video.byui.edu and select Login in the upper right corner.
6. Click Add New to the left of your account, then click Media Upload. You can then find your recordings and upload them to video.byui.edu
7. Once you select your file, fill out the necessary information. The title, description, hearing impaired, and video purpose fields are required to publish. Click Save to publish your video.
Your recording is now uploaded and published to My Media and can be viewed, shared and downloaded at video.byui.edu.
