Requesting Adobe

This article gives instruction on how you can access the latest version of Adobe through BYU-Idaho. 

Students cannot download Adobe from the school’s account onto their personal computers, with the exception of certain Communications and Art classes that provide short-term access.

Full-time employees will need to submit a ticket request to the I.T. Department to gain Adobe access on their personal computers. Only full-time employees may request Adobe from the I.T. Department.


Students

Students can access Adobe products on campus for free through the school’s Federated License. This means that your affiliation with the University grants you access to use its Adobe products through the school’s shared account. Students may not, however, download Adobe from the school’s account onto their personal computers.

There are some exceptions for this rule through certain Communications and Art classes.

Students can access Adobe products on campus computers, including the computers in the Mac Lab. The following steps will show you how to access those products: 

1. Open any Adobe product. They should already be downloaded on campus computers. 

2. Click Create an account. If you already have an Adobe account that you would like to use, simply follow the prompts to sign in.

3. Fill in the spaces for NameEmail, and Password. Then click Create Account


Employees

Full-time employees can access Adobe products for free through the school’s Federated License. This means that your affiliation with the University grants you access to use its Adobe products through the school’s shared account. Employees have the option to download the desktop clients of Adobe on their personal computers.  

While Adobe may be opened on both work and personal computers, the same app cannot be opened on both computers simultaneously.  

Follow the steps below to download Adobe products onto a personal device: 

1. Put in a ticket request to the I.T. Department to get Adobe Products 

2. You will receive an email with a link to the Adobe home page.

3. Log in with your BYU-Idaho credentials. 

4. You will then be able to download the desktop app onto your computer. From there, you may select any products you would like.
