  • What is Professional Development?

    The purpose of this module is to help students complete certain goals and activities during their time at BYU-Idaho in order to help them develop professionally, and to be prepared to enter the work force.
  • How do I report a goal as complete?

    Click here for instructions on how to mark a goal as complete.
  • Do I have to complete all of the goals on my Professional Development plan?

No. The only goals that you must complete are those marked as required. These goals will be directly tied to classes you are currently taking. The recommended goals are there to help you prepare for future employment opportunities.

  • How do I make a personal goal?

  • What is the difference between the Grad and Career Tracks?

    The Career Track professional development plan will have goals to help students to prepare and develop to enter directly into the work force.
    The Grad Track professional development plan will have goals to help students who are interested in attending Grad School. Not all majors will have a Grad Track plan.
  • Do I have to complete the goals for previous semesters?

    The only goals that you have to complete are those marked as required. All previous recommended goals do not have to be completed and are only there for the benefit of the student.
  • What do the percentages at the top of the Professional Development page mean?

    These percentages indicate how many of the total goals offered in your program have been completed.
    Required goals indicate goals that you must complete. These are directly linked with classes you are currently taking.
    Recommended goals are goals that have been added to your program that will help you in your college progress.
  • What is the Top Competency section?

    This information comes from the Educational Strategy module. These sections of the student's interest/knowledge that are most important to the career that they have declared. If this section is blank, that means the student has not yet finished the assessment test for the career that they have declared. Once the assessment test is complete, the top competencies will be a better indicator of their alignment with their declared career.
