Proctorio in Brightspace

Updated on

Proctorio is a remote proctoring service software that works within web browsers to monitor test takers for suspicious behaviors.

Set Up

To setup Proctorio for your course, first check that the associated shield icon is visible in the Chrome browser.

Now you will need to add Proctorio to your course. To do this, go to a module where it would be appropriate to add Proctorio and click on "Existing Activities". Then, click "External Learning Tools" from the drop down menu.

In the menu that pops up, scroll down until you see "Secure Exam Proctor" and click on it.

Now that you have added in the Proctorio LTI, you are now able to use Proctorio with your quizzes.

To enable Proctorio in your quiz, first go to "Quizzes" in your course.

Click on the quiz that you wish to have Proctorio enabled in.

Click on the tab all the way to the right called "Proctorio Settings" then check the box next to "Enable Proctorio".

More options will appear once you check the box. Here you can turn on or off different restrictions that are place on the quiz. Modify these settings to your preference. When you are done, click the "Save and Close" button at the bottom of the page.

You have now successfully added Proctorio to a quiz that is now ready for student access.
