How Do I Record My Cmap?

Often times, your teachers will ask you to record your Cmap so they can look at the progression of your Cmap when you turn it in periodically. The following instructions will tell you how to do that within CmapTools.

Opening Cmap Recorder

When you have opened your Cmap, go to the top of the window and click on the Tools tab.

Click on the Cmap Recorder option.

Cmap Recorder Icon

After you have opened Cmap Recorder once in your Cmap, the Cmap Recorder icon should appear on the right of the screen.

Click on this icon to open Cmap Recorder to avoid of doing the previous steps again.

Cmap Recorder

The Cmap Recorder will open to the right of your Cmap Window.

Click the Start Recording button. From this moment on, it will record all of your actions within your Cmap, but it will not record anything you say.

When you are finished recording click the Stop Recording button.

It is recommended that you start recording as soon as you open your Cmap so you don't miss recording anything.

Watching the Recording

After you have finished recording, you may watch your Cmap by clicking on the play button.

If you wish to start over with a new recording, you can click the Delete Recording button.

Submitting With A Recording

To submit your Cmap with the recording, save your Cmap as if you were going to work on it again.

Upload your saved file and submit it.

If your teacher has CmapTools installed on their computer, they will be able to watch your Cmap develop using the Cmap Recorder.

There is no export option to turn your Cmap into a video or keep the recording.
