Panopto (Video Capture/Publishing)
Panopto provides lecture recording, screencasting, video streaming, and video content management integrations with Canvas.
If this is your first time hearing about Panopto, please review this website for an overview of its features.
If Panopto is not available in your department, contact your department secretary and department head to request to enable it.
Adding Panopto To A Course
Open a course, and scroll down to click on Settings. then click the Navigation tab at the top of the page.
Scroll down and find the Panopto item, right-click on the 3 vertical dots on the right side, and choose "Enable". You can also click and drag to reorder any of the navigation menu options.
Remember to click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
Setting Up Panopto
Panopto can primarily be accessed by clicking the Panopto menu option in the course's left navigation menu.
When this menu option is clicked, you will be taken to the Panopto folder for the course. This folder is unique to the course. Within this folder, you may add video files from your computer, or record videos directly to this folder.
To add media to the course, click the Create button and choose an option.

In order for a recording to upload and appear in your Panopto course folder, you must first start the recording session by clicking the Create button within the course, and then clicking to allow the Panopto desktop client to open.
If you don't have the Panopto desktop recorder downloaded, there is an option before recording a new session to download it.
