How Do I Add a TA to My Campus Course (Canvas)?

This article shows how to add a TA to a course in Canvas.  You can use the same process to add teachers, designers, and observers.

Click the People tab in the course navigation bar.

Add People to Course

Click the +People button in the top right of the page.

Enter People and Roles

  1. Enter email address of the TA to be added.  If you add more than one at a time, separate emails with commas or new lines.
  2. Select TA under the role dropdown.
  3. Click "Next" to continue.

Add Users

Click "Add Users" to add the TA to the course.

Confirm Role (For TA)

After the TA is added, he will receive notifications on his Canvas dashboard and email saying that he has been invited to participate in the course.  Once he accepts the invitation he will have full access to the TA tools in the course.
