What Is a Course Shell?

If you are the "instructor of record" a course "shell" will be provisioned for you for each course you are teaching in the upcoming semester.  It is a placeholder attached to the registration system (Jenzabar).  Initially the shell is blank, but you can easily copy content into it.

A few weeks before the new semester starts, the course will be populated with students.  The course will not be available to students until the first day of class, or until you publish the course.  If you want to make the course available to students before the first day of class, see also:  How do I change the Start and End Dates for a Course? If your account does not have the abilities to change these settings, feel free to call the Faculty Technology Center at x7230.
