What Do the Icons in I-Learn Mean?
This article contains all the relevant icons in I-Learn. If there is an icon that you've come across in I-Learn that you don't understand, find it in this list to learn what it represents.
Icons in Grades relate to grade items for Assignments, Quizzes and Discussion Boards. The general rule is that if there is a blue starburst in the icon, the submission has not yet been graded.
NOTE: You must be in Standard View in Grades to see grading icons.
Final Calculated Grade Visible
The "eye" symbol means that the Final Calculated Grade is visible to the student.
Final Calculated Grade Not Visible
The "eye" symbol with a slash means that the Final Calculated Grade is not visible to the student.

Assignment Submission with Blue Starburst
This icon means that there is an Assignment submission that has not been read or opened by the instructor.
Assignment Submission without Blue Starburst
This represents an assignment submission that has been opened or read by the instructor.
Assessment/Quiz with Blue Starburst
This icon represents an Assessment/Quiz submission that has not been graded and requires instructor attention. The quiz could either be ungraded by the instructor, or an attempt "In Progress" which the student has not fully completed.

Assessment/Quiz without Blue Starburst
This icon represents an Assessment/Quiz submission that has been graded.
Discussion with Blue Starburst
This icon represents a discussion post that has not been read within the discussion tool (posts read within the gradebook are not marked as read).
Discussion without Blue Starburst
This icon represents that the student has participated in the discussion and the instructor has read all of the student's posts within the discussion tool.
This represents a link to a discussion board.
This icon represents an assignment submission page.
This icon represents a link to an assessment or quiz.
This icon represents a link to a PDF document.
Generic Content Page
This icon represents a link to a generic content page. Generic content pages are normally used for instructions, readings, embedded videos, etc.
External Web Page Link
This represents a link to an external web page. It can either take students to an external site, or display the site as an embedded page inside I-Learn.
This represents a link to a video clip.
This represents an attached audio file.
This icon represents a link to a checklist in I-Learn. If your course contains a checklist, checking off the checklist items will move the class progress bar for the module in which the checklist exists.
This icon represents a link to an I-Learn survey. I-Learn surveys are not commonly used.
