How Do I Associate a Group with an Existing Discussion Board?

Discussions Tab

Click on the Discussions tab.

Edit Topic

In the Discussions page, find the Topic you wish to associate the with the group. Click on the down arrow next to the topic name and select Edit Topic.

Restrictions

Click on the Restrictions tab.

Restrict Topic

Check the box that says Restrict this topic to the following groups and sections.

Add Groups and Sections

Add Groups and Sections

Click on the Add Groups and Sections button, below the Restrict this topic to the following groups and sections check box.

Group Selection

A new window will appear.

1. Click the drop-down menu below Group or Section Catagory and click the group you wish to associate with the discussion board.

2. Put a check next to individual group you wish to associate with the discussion board.

Add

Click the Add button.

Check

Check to make sure that the group was successfully associated with the discussion board.

Save and Close

Click the Save and Close button.

Check

Check to make sure the discussion board now says it has Group/section restrictions.
