Using Classroom Technology

You may have seen classroom technology "How-To" cards being circulated on campus. Below are more detailed instructions to supplement what is found on those cards.


Using a Classroom Touch Panel on Campus

1. Tap the touch panel. It may take 15-20 seconds for the touch panel to fully activate. 

2. Select the button Press to Start System.

 If the button is not available, you may have to press Pic on.

3. Before leaving the classroom, tap the button Press to Shut Down. 

  • If prompted, tap Confirm. 

  • Only use the Pic on and Pic off buttons to show or hide the projection during class. 


Using a Classroom Touch Panel in STC

1. Tap the touch panel. It may take 15-20 seconds for the touch panel to activate. 

2. Select the button Press to Start System.

If the Press to Start System button is not visible, press the Pic on button.

3. Do not use the audio only option if listed. 

4. Tap Press to Shut Down to power off the projector when leaving the classroom. 

  • If prompted, tap Confirm. 

  • Only use the Pic on and Pic off buttons to show or hide the projection during class. 


Switching Display Modes (Windows)

Extended View allows the instructor to present something different on a classroom projector other than the computer's monitor. The instructor can move programs or images to the projector's display for the class to see. These steps describe how to switch between Extended View and the default Cloned View. 

1. Right-click on the desktop. 

2. Select Display settings. 

3. Open the Multiple displays drop-down menu. 

4. Select the desired display mode you prefer between Duplicate these displays and Extend these displays. 

5. Select Keep changes or it will automatically revert in 15 seconds. 


Using the ListenPoint LPT-M1 Classroom Microphone

Remove the microphone from its charging station and hang it around your neck. The microphone should turn on automatically with the activation of the touch panel.

Indicator light guide:

  • Solid green light means the microphone is on. 

  • Blinking green light means the mic is muted. 

  • Solid red light signifies a low battery. 

  • Blinking red light means the microphone is charging. 

  • Amber light means the microphone is in programming mode. 

Only one microphone can work at a time in the same classroom. 


Using a Wireless Document Camera
  1. Remove the gray camera head from the body of the device and adjust the bendable arm into the desired position. 

  2. Press the power button. A red light will appear. 

  3. Press the power button again. The light will blink. 

  4. Wait for the red blinking light to turn green. 

  5. Wait for the Wi-Fi light to turn from flashing orange to blue. This means the document camera is connected to the Wi-Fi.  

  6. Connect to the Sphere2 software on the computer.
