How Do I Filter Student Attempts?

Welcome! In this article we'll show you how to filter student quiz or assignment attempts. You can do this in the gradebook or in SpeedGrader. Let's get started!

Are you filtering the gradebook?

Open the gradebook

To begin, click "Grades" in the course navigation menu.

Open the quiz/assignment options

Click on the three dots [1] on the quiz or assignment you want to filter. Then, select "Sort by" [2] from the list of options. Finally, select how you want to filter your students' attempts [3].

Once you're inside the SpeedGrader, click on the cog icon [1] in the top left corner of the page. Then, select "Options" [2] from the dropdown menu.

Set filtering

Now, in the corresponding pop up window, use the dropdown menu to select the type of filtering you would like to use. When you filter in the SpeedGrader, it will filter the order in which you grade the attempts.

Save your changes

Finally, click "Save Settings" to save your changes.
